The Microserver
An Applet HP Microserver solution is ideal as your first server, to replace an existing ageing server, or to provide additional capacity.
The HP Microserver is exactly as the name implies, very small. It's also quiet and fast with an AMD quad core processor. It is absolutely perfect where the server sits in your home or office and you do not want it to take up much space or make much noise.
Applet takes the bare-bones server that we get from HP and configures it to your needs. We add additional RAM, storage, and software in either a standard or custom configuration. Our expertise ensures you get a fully working system out of the box, and do not need to do a load of technical work yourself.
Flash Storage
Our systems include the latest solid state storage for the operating system (and optionally also your data in Microserver 2). This flash memory based storage runs at lightening speeds and uses very little power. It is also much more reliable than a traditional disc as it has no moving parts. It is not yet supplied by many of the major vendors as there are many conventional hard disc suppliers that are hanging on to their market share.
Operating System
We recommend Windows Small Business Server 2011. This software is available in Essentials or Standard versions and offers excellent value for money. Features offered include a file server, web server, and Exchange based email server, plus integration of security and control through Microsoft Active Directory and associated technology.
