We cover almost all aspects of your home computing needs. This includes supply, installation and support of a whole variety of devices, and the software than runs on them - including desktop PCs, laptops, Macs, tablets, phones, and peripherals such as monitors, scanners, printers, webcams, storage, and much more.
Most commonly we work with Windows, but can also provide assistance with other operating systems including Apple, Linux, and Acorn RISC OS.
Our services range from fault finding and a computer 'MOT' service, through to complete re-installation of the operating system and restoration of all of your data, applications, and peripheral drivers. Our re-installation service makes sure you get exactly what you need. We will never just use the restore disc and leave you to do the rest (like some well known high street stores).
Virus and Malware Removal and Prevention
A common problem is an infestation of virus' and other malware. We can help to remove this unwanted software in a non-destructive way, protecting your data. Having up to date virus and malware protection software is very important and we make sure that your software is working and effective. Commercial Antivirus products typically change annually and we're happy to recommend what is best today. There are also a number of very good free antivirus products on the market that we are always pleased to recommend, and often a combination of products can be the most effective solution.
Broadband and Networking
We assist with broadband installation and troubleshooting. We can deal with first time installation, changing of service providers, and assist with fault diagnosis and reporting with your ISP. We supply and configure routers for ADSL and cable, with or without wireless, and help with the set-up of security. Many routers have faulty firmware that causes instability and we can help with finding our a better software version or a replacement router that gives the reliability you need.
It is possible to improve the quality of your ADSL signal through replacement of a master socket faceplate, and eliminate problems with faulty wiring of extensions that act as an antenna causing interference. It is amazing how many times these relatively simple changes can make a huge different to the reliability of an ADSL connection.
We supply and install network adapters that use your mains electricity wiring to create a wired network without - avoiding the need for additional cables. These are much faster and reliable than wireless, and operate at up to gigabit speed. We can also assist with configurations for bridging between different ring-mains where a property has extensions or many floors.

Our experience includes working with individuals and charities who have, or work with people who have, a wide range of disabilities. Many years ago Val assisted in the creation of the first IT service at the Leonard Cheshire Disability home in Timsbury, and on an ongoing basis we provide IT services to Living (DLC) in Bristol.

As an alternative we can offer Linux based server software that eliminates the licensing cost and is often ideal for a simple file server solution - with many options having easy to use web based control panels.
As an alternative or complementary service, the online services from Google can offer excellent value of money, with many services free. We can assist with the set-up and deployment of Google Apps, including migration of existing services from other online providers or physical servers.
